Podcast # 57- Conversation with Tommy Fogarty

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

This weeks podcast with Tommy Fogarty was so much fun- and feels like the perfect Strangers Stopping Strangers story to kick off 2018!

Tommy and I have many things in common- grew up in the same neighborhoods- a friendship/connection with the same guy who was ultimately the catalyst for us both started going to see The Grateful Dead &  the wine industry- yet it took meeting through a social media thread to meet one another!

Tommy shares his stories that start off in the San Francisco hard core punk rock scene- where he first caught a glimpse of a Jerry Garcia show on Broadway across the street from Black Flag &  peaked some interest- a teenage road trip up to Boreal Ridge, and to Henry J. Kaiser in Oakland- the show that locked him in. Tommy takes us down to Irvine Meadows-now  into the groove traveling to shows with friends, and back home to Shoreline, a favorite venue that always packs some special stories from Deadheads who was able to catch SF Bay Area shows in the late 80’s- 90’s.

Tommy and I could have talked forever- and I have no doubt our paths will now cross in person, whether catching each other at show – or following up on his invitation to visit Thomas Fogarty Winery – in Woodside CA on a future trip “home”.

As always- thank you for stopping by & enjoy!
